Russ Graff For Town Council and
For the Common Good
Husband, father of three, and long-time community member. I have been proud to call the Stony Plain area home for nearly thirty years. For the first fourteen of those years, I served as pastor at Hope Christian Reformed Church. In more recent years, I have continued offering pastoral services throughout the region, including at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rosenthal, where I also serve as an Elder. From my time as a Town Councillor between 2013–2017, I gained valuable experience that I am excited to use in serving the residents of Stony Plain.
Through both my life and my work, I have had the privilege of walking alongside people from many different backgrounds, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges and needs within our community. Beyond my pastoral roles, I have also been an active volunteer in numerous areas, including:
Volunteer:
-
Mayors’ Commission - Community Engagement
-
Old Hope Society (a charity to save and restore the historic Little White Church two miles North of Stony Plain) Founder & First Chair
-
Volunteered and was on the Board for Stony Plain Cowboy Poetry Festival for 10 years.
-
Volunteer at Whispering Waters Manor, non-denominational services
Vision for Town Council
Putting Residents First
Listen carefully to the voices of our community to gain a good understanding of how the town council can best support the needs and aspirations of our citizens for the common good.
Respect for Taxpayers
Hold the line on taxes. Explore every option to prevent increases and ensure residents get the best value for every dollar spent.
A Community for All Ages
Keep Stony Plain a safe, welcoming, and vibrant place where families can thrive, businesses can grow, and residents of all ages can enjoy every stage of life.
Smart and Efficient Government
Seek out cost-saving measures in administration and commit to no unnecessary growth in this area, focusing resources where they matter most.
Supporting Local Business
Strengthen support for our local businesses while working to attract new opportunities and investment that will benefit the entire community.
Efficient and Accessible Programs
Review community programs and services to ensure they are run efficiently, accessible to those who need them, and sustainable for the long term.
Good governance thrives on both experience and fresh ideas. I bring with me the knowledge gained from serving on Town Council, along with a renewed perspective and a strong understanding of our community’s needs. By voting for me, you’ll gain the benefit of both. My commitment is to ensure that our town’s governance always serves the common good. A vote for Russ is truly a vote for us. Thank you for your support and consideration.
Thank You
Russ Graff
